Dr. Hermena Cerphy has always had a strong interest in learning. "As far back as I can remember, I've wanted to become a doctor," she says. "I was fascinated by my pediatrician and how he could help me feel better when I was sick." It's this curiosity and appreciation for learning that makes her a special doctor. "Working with the senior population is very rewarding," she adds. "As I take care of them, I have the privilege of learning from their experiences and wisdom. They tell me stories about their families, children and grandchildren. I try to help patients achieve physical health but also to talk about other aspects of their lives that could affect their health."
